This example of a Flash banner could be used in a health or excercise theme. Developed from photographs, a still shot of a girl on a treadmill was used. In Photoshop, arms and legs were made into separate layers and movements were programmed with Actionscript. Background photo moves in the opposite direction giving the walking illusion.

This banner is a fade in/fade out presentation. It is has an eye pleasing effect. This type of banner offers a good user experience. The related photos send a positive message along with brief well written text.

An example of a DO NOT USE type of ad banners that we see in many websites. Using this style usually NOT will work to your advantage. Because of multiple animations, page user experience changes from appealing to annoying. Users become anxious to exit your page.

This flash application was developed for an Townhome Development in Tempe, Az website. The objective was attract prospective buyers for the Realtor. The user experience design approach was to create a Flash slideshow of the interior/exterior with descriptions on the home page.

This Flash application was developed for a company offering Child Therapy Services. The target market was Concerned Parents.

The challenge was to display a lot of information so a parent could quickly decide if these services might apply to them.

Two scenes were created, The first scene sets to tone with a "happy" opening look followed by diagnostic content.

Scene one "happy":
What is better than smiling children. Slide in pictures used here.

Scene two "diagnostic":
In order not to overwhelm user with large content, categories and related symtoms were grouped. Each group displayed individually allowing user sufficient time to read symtoms before displaying the next group.

This is a website of a Chicagoland vocalist. Needless, the style of this website needs striking.

It is inclusive of a stage animation including audio.

Flash was used in various segments of the website. This segment begins the home page with a song.

On a page within the website, Gina sings several songs from a simulated jukebox.

The user rolls over the jukebox selection buttons and view the song titles and clicks the button. Gina sings and the song title and original artist displays.

Gina has a nice mellow voice. Put on your earbuds and enjoy.

Actionscript supports all audio/video used here.

flash classroom in a book - recommended by david r beasley/td> Another resource is "Adobe Flash CS4 Professional Classroom in a Book". It is well organized, has pre-defined hands-on exercises and takes about 35 hours to complete. However, if you're a beginner, I suggest learning basic JavaScript as a prerequisite.
